Welcome to the European Badminton Championships 2009

In 2009 and 2010, BADMINTON England plays host to the European Badminton Championships, which for the first time will be held as two separate events occurring in consecutive years.

Previously played as one tournament, with the team and individual spectacles occurring back-to-back at the same venue, the new format, while being held in two different locations, is very much one event, two cities

  • 2009 European Team Championship

    Echo Arena Liverpool, 10 -15 February 2009 This will be the first time a world class badminton event has been hosted in Liverpool, with a bumper entry of 32 nations taking part. Each tie involves one match in each of the five Badminton disciplines – Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The nations will be split into groups of four, before a knockout stage from the quarter-finals onwards.

  • 2010 European Individual Championships

    Manchester MEN Arena, 13-18th April 2010 Manchester, already a seasoned sporting city that is the home of the BADMINTON England National Championships, will see elite level European action in each of the five disciplines, as players compete as individuals and pairs for the prized continental titles.
